Finally get to post!

Well, I am finally getting to post on update. Paul and I have been having problems with our wireless router at home and I haven't been able to get on the internet on my laptop. Completly annoying! Of course that take bottom priority to Paul in getting it fixed, who says "Just use mine." But I hate his!!!
So, lots of stuff been happening. Of course with a newborn there always is.
William is doing wonderfully! The last time I took him to the doctor he was 6 weeks old and weighed in a whopping 10 pounds and 23 inches long! I can't keep the boy in clothes that fit. He's outgrown most of the 3 months stuff that I have for him.
I unfortunatly had to return to work. If it had been up to me, I would have taken the semester off but I can't. I went back on March 29th, tought for 4 days and then went out for Spring Break! What a way to jump back into it. Some of my students are very glad to see me and so is my principle. William is staying with my Mom, which is awesome because I don't mind leaving him with her. Others are a little iffy and we'll get to that later.
I finally took William to church last Sunday for Easter Sunday. I left him in the nursery. They give you a pager in case anything happens and they need to you to come back before the service is over. Let me tell you, I clung to that pager the entire service! I don't know if I wanted it to go off so I could go and rescue him or that I wanted him to be alright. This was the first time that I left him with someone other than Paul or my mom. They said that he did wonderfully but I don't think that I will leave him again soon. He woke up and they gave him his bottle but instead of following directions she only mixed half the formula into the 6 ounce bottle of water. She said she wasn't sure but if she wasn't sure why didn't she just page me? Anyway, made for a long Easter Sunday lunch at the club because he was hungry and I had to feed him before I could eat. Thankfully, they kept the buffet open and yes, we were the last ones to be in the ballroom eating. Sorry!
Right now, William, my mom and I are enjoying a nice vacation at the beach! We rent a place called Bored of Education down on Emerald Isle for the week of Spring Break. So far we are having a great time. It was a little chilly yesterday but suppose to be beautiful today.

My friend Carrie is a nurse at the hospital and we had the priviledge of having her attend his birth. She was the nursery nurse that took him and cleaned him up. I'm so glad that she was able to be there because she wasn't scheduled to work that day but had come in for something else and it was just in time for his delivery. It was great to see her that day. She had worked the night before and was just getting off when we were getting settled in and situated in Labor and Delivery. She got me crying first! All she had to do was come in and ask how I was doing and I let it loose. I'm sure that it was just nerves though.

Delivery wasn't bad. This was what had me so nervous the whole time. May I suggest that you get your epidural BEFORE the doctor breaks your water though. That was what hurt the most. By the way, epidurals are GREAT!!! I had no right leg at all and had a little control of my left!

Everyone was so surprised when it was time to deliver. The nurse had checked me around 12:30 or 1 and I was still sitting around the 2 to 3 cm dialation and had effaced a little more but not much was going one. Dr. Glynne had called and asked that I be checked again around 3ish and to everyone's amazment William was ready to make his arrival! The nurse said she wouldn't have believed it unless she had been the one to check!

They called Dr. Glynne back and told her to come on over and while we waited they got everything ready. Once she got there things went pretty quickly. I don't think that I pushed even an hour before he was born.

We've been adjusting fairly well. I've had my melt down and am sure that there will be more. I guess that's what happens when you've not really slept for several days and are now home by yourself and just don't know what to do.

I'm healing fairly well. I've got to remember that this was a major ordeal to my body and that I need to take it slow and easy. Things I didn't even know could hurt have.

Thank goodness for my mom, who's been really really helpful, and also to some really good freinds who have checked on me continously. It really makes a world of difference!

Bubba's Room

Here are pictures of Bubba's room now that it's all ready. Paul finally finished the upstairs and carpet was installed Thursday. Yes, we're cutting it close but at least it's done! I'll post pictures of upstairs later.
Anyway, we moved the extra bed out of Bubba's room so that there is actually room for him when he comes next week! I love his bedding. It's called Derby Plaid by Cotton Tale. It's great because there are several colors and several patterns in it, which has made finding accessories (like valences and baskets) easier because they can just be similar in color and not an exact match. I thought about trying to make a diaper stacker since the one that goes with his set is out of stock but just ran out of time.

I have to call the hospital at 5 tomorrow morning and then be there by 5:30. Yes, that's in the morning!

His crib and crib set. I LOVE IT!!! It's a green chanel, rust plaid and then 2 different navy plaids. The crib is a pretty cherry. I wanted white but this goes well with his set.


His changer matches the crib. I moved the glider from the living room into his room and bought a plaid pillow for it. It doesn't match the set, just goes with it.

Baby Update!!!

It's been so nice to have a long weekend with the snow that we recieve Friday night through Saturday but I am ready to head back to work and get somethings done before I go out on maternity leave.
I had already scheduled leave to being next Monday Feb 8, 2010 and was looking forward to a couple of days of doing nothing! Well, Paul took me to the Doctor's yesterday (I wasn't about to drive in this mess by myself). Everything is looking really good. I'm still at about 1 cm dialated and about 50% effaced, which I've been for almost 2 weeks, by the way.
Anyway, we were getting ready to go when Dr. Glynne came back and said "How would you like to go ahead and have this guy on Monday?"
Paul and I took yesterday to talk about it. I also called my freind who works at the hospital. So, we are going to go ahead and be induced on Monday Feb 8, 2010. "Bubba" will be 4 days early, if he cooperates and doesn't come earlier, which will be fine with us.
I'm all for this plan. I like having a plan. I have been fairly anxious about actually having the baby. I'm not one to tolorate pain and haven't been looking forward to going into labor. Even though everyone tells me an epidural is a wonderful thing! This plan is actually giving me some comfort in knowing how things will go.
So, the next time I'm able to post here, hopefully there will be new pictures of "Bubba"!

Ultra Sound Pictures!

Gosh, I have been really, really terrible with keeping up the updates. One day I'll get it together!

In recent news (about a month ago) we found out what we are having! I have to say that I'm very much happy to announce that Paul and I are excepting a BOY!!!!

He doesn't have a name yet, we are working on it. He looked really good though on the ultrasound and has had a good heartbeat whenever I go to the doctor. Although, it was very funny the other day at the office. The Nurse was trying to get a heartbeat and was having a very hard time because he wouldn't stay still. You could hear him kick the monitor and then he would be gone!! It took her 3 or 4 times to get a good heartbeat on him!

13 weeks to go till we actually get to see him!!!

Time for an update.

Well, I guess that it's time for an update since I've been terrible about it this summer.

1st, we moved into the new house and finished up the school year. Nothing too exciting about that in itself but makes for busy days and nights.

2nd, Paul and I found out that we are expecting! That is the biggest news since moving. We barely had a chance to get into the house and settled when it happened. We're both excited and so are our families.
At this point, I'm on my 15th week and things are looking very good. We go back during week 19 to have another ultrasound and hopefully find out what we are having. Paul and I just want a happy, healthy, all the fingers and toes and other important parts. We'll be glad with either boy or girl and will go from there.
I've been feeling alright. Throwing up is not my most favorite thing but it is getting better and my doctor was nice to me and gave me some medication to help with it.
It's a bit aggravating. I don't fit in my clothes but I don't really fit into maternity clothes either. Unfortunately, we headed back to school and I can't live in Paul's sweatpants and t-shirts and will have to figure something out.
I don't have a picture yet, but I'm sure that there will be one eventually.
That is all of the exciting news, not a lot but enough that's worth sharing!
